Our first, shall I say properly organized XC Group Ride, took place today (20/12/08) and what a great success it was....

16 of our members turned up for our first XC Group Ride Out which was a fantastic turn out so close to Christmas. We have run many 'forum organized' Christmas and New Year riding events previously with good turn outs so it was nice to see so many people are still keen on attending rides. It was fantastic to have so many riders all together, and of many different backgrounds, riding styles, different bikes and fitness levels.

Today's ride started and ended at Wendover Woods and went off around the Chilterns for around 15miles, taking about 2 hours to complete. Due to the trail conditions at the moment and the desire of everyone to get off early and finish the Christmas shopping we chose to keep today's ride fairly short.

Sadly I was on call for work today so didn't manage to ride myself, however whilst keeping my phone near my side I did manage to follow the riders round and catch several shots of the day. To see the photos of the group ride click here

This Christmas Group Ride marks the start of several rides that will be running every month throughout 2009. We will be holding regular XC ride outs as well as organizing some downhill/freeride/4X ride meets as well. Keep checking back on the site and the forum for more news on these, and register for our email newsletter to keep in the loop. Keep your eyes peeled for information on the next Group Ride in January, to be held at Aston Hill, details coming very soon.
