I
don't see riding as a full time job, I wake up every morning still wanting to ride, even if I didn't have any sponsors I would still ride with my mates on a weekend.

You must have raced a lot then? What's your favourite course to race, and how would you improve courses generally?
I've raced now for 12 yrs now, I've seen a lot of different tracks and how they've changed over the years, i'm still waiting for someone to figure exactly what a 4X course layout should be.

Being a world classed pro; you can try the new products first eh? Have you got any good gossip on new parts/bikes?

How does your position now in the mountain bike industry compare to your aspirations when you first started riding? Did you ever think you’d end up in this position?
When I first started riding it was all about winning races, and my goals haven't changed. Every race I enter I wanna win, I never thought in a million yrs id be in the position I'm in now, I'm very lucky to be where I am now, although it has been hard work.

Mountain Biking has changed a huge amount in the past ten years from pure XC to all the different disciplines there are at the moment. Where do you think it’ll go next?
I'
ve only been in mtb for 4 yrs now so I've no idea about the past so I cant compare it to anything really, where will it go next? I don't know it depends on what the marketing people at the big companies dream up next, I'm so not into the whole "freeride" thing, I don't even no what it is, I reckon its just a technical word for riding your bike.

How do you feel with the bike and the Tomac deal?
The Tomac deal is mint, the guys at Tomac look after me really well, the team manager really understands things from a riders point of view rather than a business view, I have all the bikes I need and all the spare parts to go with em.
