This weekend it is another
of the West Drayton MTB clubs promotions
- the Bucks Classic off –road enduro.
There will be a
choice of 3 distances to ride, 30km, 70km and 100km
The reported trail
conditions
of the course last time
ridden by the West Drayton Club a couple of weeks ago
are that the ground is
very firm and dry so it is likely with the recent rain that
this will actually improve the course. Apparently
there are only likely to be a couple of muddier sections and
for those that remember last years ride the route
is to avoid the Ostrich farm
stretch.
For those that have not done the event before the 30km is suitable
for all with nothing too technical but still some
enjoyable single track including a
stream crossing
The 70km route is good challenge with some
great down hills to get the adrenaline going and the 100km is a real
test of fitness and is for those that are really up for a challenge.
100km off-road is tough and although the hills around the Chilterns
are not that high this route is continuously up and down and your
legs will feel the ride the next day.
As always there are two free refreshment stops laid on but as well
as this there are a number of village stores and country pubs for
some much deserved refreshments for those that are in no hurry to
post fast times.
Entries are still available on the day and the start at Denham
County Park, situated in Denham Court Drive is easily accessible
being approx 800 metres from junction 1 of the M40
