What about the Buckinghamshire Off-Road Classic? VERY SHORT NOTICE! If
you've followed us and the site over the past few years then you'll know
were a great fan of the
Buckinghamshire Off-Road Classic event. Organised by
The West Drayton MBC/Beyond Mountain Bikes, this
year sees the 8th run of this 100km endurance event.
Its not a race but a very tough challenging mainly off-road route
with country lanes linking up the off-road sections... The event starts at Denham Country Park, Denham , Bucks within the perimeter of the M25 but don't be fooled by the start location this is a toughie , endless hills, with over 5000ft of climbing last year with the first riders back in 2005 recording times of 6 hours! This years route follows a similar but new route out into the Chilterns with the usual free refreshment stop halfway round, two shorter routes for those not quite up to the challenge are planned with distances around the 30 km and 70 Km . The event is based on the format of the popular Hell of the North Cotswolds but with more off-road sections and in this event there is no need to worry about map reading with the whole route being signposted. There are plenty of country Pubs on the route for those much needed refreshments for those who are in no hurry to finish. Further details
