BucksMTB Family Fun MTB Day 20th October
||Sunday 20th October
||10:00am - 16:00pm
Chiltern Hills, Buckinghamshire
||Free of charge
BucksMTB regularly organizes youth rides and family ride days, but other than a
partnered event in 2011 we have never held a specific large scale organised
public family event....until now that is!
On Sunday 20th October 2013,
we are holding our first specific Family Fun Day mountain bike event between
10:00 and 16:00 at Wendover
Woods in the Chiltern Hills which is
open to the
whole family for free of charge.
This event is going to be a fun day for the
whole family taking in orienteering in the picturesque Chiltern Hills, but
combined with family team building, group ride games, group challenges,
individual challenges and much more....all finished off with a BBQ to end the
day. The main event is based on the orienteering challenge, aiming to get to as
many checkpoints as possible within a given time period, following this will be
a selection of different tasks and challenges. The event outline means that all
partaking families have a chance at winning, with better points being on offer
on some tasks instead of purely just based on visiting checkpoints. The day will
be a great day out for the whole family bringing in great family team work,
tactics, riding challenges, but also to to offer a challenge for each individual
in the family and include a way to learn new biking skills all mixed in with
some cunning and tactical team work.
Qualified BucksMTB trail leaders will also be
providing led rides throughout Wendover Woods during the event as well as us
ShoreTrax course setup for those that fancy having a go at something a
little different too.
The event will be professionally run and
organised, supported by the
Forestry Commission and
local bike shops and supporting sponsors. The event will offer different
categories for mixed family groups and different ages.
This event will be fairly similar to our
previous Family Adventure Challenge that we held in partnership with XNRG back
in 2011 -
