Extreme Energy are delighted to introduce an EXTREME
distance multi-day Mountain Biking Challenge following the oldest
roadway in the UK, dating back to 3000BC.
This event marks BucksMTB's 10th Anniversary!
The route follows the mountain bike route of the Ridgeway path from
Wendover in Buckinghamshire to Swindon in Wiltshire, and back again !!
A
tough but fun weekends mountain biking with everything except the
cycling taken care of by the Extreme Energy team.
This is not a race but a timed event with the opportunity to earn a
Gold, Silver or Bronze standard. Riders will be set off in groups at 2
minute intervals.
The event is open to individuals or teams, and is open to both mountain
bikers and cyclo-cross riders.

£100 for the 2 days (this is
inclusive of all food, accommodation, checkpoint support, technical
support and event goodies)

What You Get:
All competitors will receive a
goody bag from our sponsors, a quality medal, event T shirt or buff.
Accommodation:
The Ridgeway School Swindon
sleeping in the school hall, with full shower and feeding facilities.
Facilities:
Showers and bike wash down in
Swindon plus secure overnight, bike wash down in Wendover on day 2
Food:
All food will
be provided Saturday Evening and Sunday morning. There will also be
water and food available at each checkpoint (please do not rely on
checkpoint food as your only fuel, this should be viewed as additional
to the fuel you carry yourself)
Kit:
We will
transport all non cycling kit to the overnight. 1 bag per competitor.
There is a recommended kit list to be carried en route below.
You will also need to bring overnight gear for the Saturday nights
including sleeping bag, sleeping mat, wash gear, clothes for evenings,
anything else to make you comfortable.

Parking:
There is ample parking in Wendover at the school
Medical:
There will be
first aiders on hand through out the event. Any serious incidents or
injuries will be handled through our medical evacuation plan. Please
make sure you read the
medical section of the website
and complete any medical information in your entry form.
Massage:
We
will have one or two people available for 15 minute sports massages at
an additional cost. Bookable on arrival each evening.

Categories:
Route / Navigation:
The route follows bridleways, trails, tracks and some short road
sections. You will be given a route card, map and electronic download
GPS data. Plus most of the route is marked by National Trail signs.

Supporters / Volunteers:
If there are any supporters of competitors that want to support
throughout the event then we would love to have you along.
If you are able to help man checkpoints / water stations etc then we
would be prepared to provide you with food and accommodation for free
throughout the event.
The advantage for the competitor is of course not just that they have
someone cheering them along and getting their food in the evening!!,
more importantly they have someone there to take them home.

Travel:
Getting
to the start at John Colet School is very straight forward by car. The
nearest main road, particularly from London/M25/M1 is via the A41 from
London/Hemel Hempstead.
Google Maps
Wendover is easily accessible by train via the Chiltern line to Wendover
Town station - it is a five minute ride to the John Colet School from
the train station.

Entrants planning to complete one day only:
If you are planning on only attending one of the two days of riding you
will neerd to organise your own transport back to your point of start.
Entrants not finishing both days:
However if you are competing both days and retire on day two due to bike
technical issues or fatigue you will be transported back John Colet
School at the end of day two.
