Here are some
photos of our recent recce ride to Swinley to check over the route for
our June Group Ride, and I must say what a route it is! The route
takes in some of the best singletrack, technical climbs, fast and
challenging descents that Swinley has to offer, but all sections of
the route are suitable for all levels of Mountain Bikers from beginner
to expert.
Event
Information:
The May 2010 BMTB group ride is to be
held at Swinley Forest (Bracknell). This event is open for Cross Country (XC) riders of all
levels of ability.
The Group Ride will be a led route by our BMTB staff riders and will be held on
local trails in and around Swinley Forest.
This event is free of charge. The
only cost entailed is the a Swinley
Forest day Permit costing around £3.00, that can be purchased from The Look Out Discovery
Centre reception at Swinley. Car
parking if needed is free.
The ride will be starting promptly
at 10:30am so please be at the car park in good time to get kitted up
(especially if arriving by car) to avoid delays. The ride WILL be
starting promptly at 10:30am.
Route information for the day:
The day will be spilt into two parts. The first part of the day will
be a led ride taking in around a 15-20 mile loop followed by Cake and
Coffee at the Lookout Cafe. The 2nd half of the day will be an
exploration ride, taking in some new trails, getting lost and
re-riding any of the best tracks from the mornings session - you may
ride with us or by yourselves for the 2nd part of the day.
Time wise around 2 hours
for the first part of the day and a further two hours for the 2nd half
of the day. Time depends on group size and rider ability. If you are
planning on riding with us all day please leave yourself until 15:00
which leaves ample time for lots of riding and cake!
