Event Information:
The next BucksMTB group ride is
to be our July 2011 XC Group Ride. This event is open to BucksMTB Club
Members and visiting riders (non Club members). Non club members are
welcomed to join us for up to three group rides to see if you like the
Club before joining.This ride
is open to Cross Country (XC) riders of all levels of ability. The event is not a race so the ride pace will be set to suit
all riders on the day. The Group Ride will be a led route by
our BMTB staff riders and will be held on local trails in and around
The Chiltern Hills.
You will need to pay car parking
(pay and display) if driving to Wendover Woods.
We will be meeting
outside the The Cafe in the Woods in Wendover Wood's main car park. The ride will be starting promptly
at 10:30am so please be at the car park in good time to get kitted up
(especially if arriving by car) to avoid delays. The ride WILL be
starting promptly at 10:30am.
Route information for the day:
The route will be an all off-road Chiltern Hills cross country route
taking in a good mix of previously used trails and all new trails to
be ridden at a BucksMTB Group Ride. The route will be around
20-30miles, actual distance to be confirmed nearer the time.
Time wise please leave yourself around 4 hours
for this ride. Time depends on group size and rider ability.
Getting there/Car Parking:
Aston Clinton, Halton, and
Wendover and Aylesbury are the nearest towns or villages.
From Wendover, take the B4009
towards Tring, take the right hand turn approximately 1 mile north of
RAF Halton, signposted Wendover Woods and St Leonards. The main
entrance to the woods is found on the right.
From the A41, take the Wendover exit (also signed Dunstable) and
take the B4009 towards Aston Clinton. Take the first left towards
Wendover. After approx 1/2 mile, take a left signposted Wendover Woods
and St Leonards. The main entrance to the woods is found on the right.
Local buses will take you as far as Halton and the Chiltern Line
runs a regular service to Wendover from Marylebone.
