Event Information:
The next BucksMTB group ride is to
be our June 2011 XC Group Ride. This event is open to BucksMTB Club
Members and visiting riders (non Club members). Non club members are
welcomed to join us for up to three group rides to see if you like the
Club before joining.This ride
is open to Cross Country (XC) riders of all levels of ability. The event is not a race so the ride pace will be set to suit
all riders on the day. The Group Ride will be a led route by
our BMTB staff riders and will be held on local trails in and around
Swinley Forest.
If you are not already a Swinley
pass holder you will need to buy a days riding pass from the Lookout
Discovery Centre, the cost is £3.00 per rider.
We will be meeting
outside the The Lookout Discovery Centre Main Entrance. The ride will be starting promptly
at 10:30am so please be at the car park in good time to get kitted up
(especially if arriving by car) to avoid delays. The ride WILL be
starting promptly at 10:30am.
Route information for the day:
The day will be spilt into two parts. The first part of
the day will be a led ride taking in around a 10-15 mile loop of
Swinley's maze of superb singletrack then followed by Cake and
Coffee at the Lookout Cafe. The 2nd half of the day will be an
exploration ride, taking in some new trails, getting lost and
re-riding any of the best tracks from the mornings session - you may
ride with us or by yourselves for the 2nd part of the day.
Time wise around 2 hours
for the first part of the day and a further two hours for the 2nd half
of the day. Time depends on group size and rider ability. If you are
planning on riding with us all day please leave yourself until 15:00
which leaves ample time for lots of riding and cake!
