It may have been moved short notice but we were impressed to see nine riders turn up to ride with Mike and I who were leading the ride between us on the day. There was a great mix of new and familiar faces, non members and club members.
The weather was great with a lovely morning ahead of our ride. The route was a ten to fifteen mile loop of the Wendover Woods area before heading out to Coombe Hill linking in a different return to add some depth and distance.
The trail conditions were riding really well still considering some recent heavy rain, there were a few slow and stick patches but generally the trails were dry and still very dusty! My biggest regret of the day was forgetting clear glasses or sunglasses, following anyone else was horrible in the huge dust storms!
The route hit around fifteen miles by the time we had finished, returning back promptly for our fellow riders afternoon plans or for us to rescue our cars from the pay and display ticket issuing fairies...
After a brew, cake and a great chin way at the Wendover Woods cafe everyone went their separate ways, but everyone seemed to throughout enjoy the ride, the route, the weather and what the Club is going - so for us a great day.
Please keep an eye out on the website soon for more details on our up coming Autumn rides in October, November and onwards.
