Downhill racing returns to Aston Hill's infamous Black Run on Sunday 14th March to kick off the 2010 race season.

This early season test should give a good indication of the riders to watch for the 2010 season and those that should be watched because of the lack of practice over the winter months. Will the 13th year of racing on the Black Run be lucky for you?

As always it will be a great day out for all the family and Aston Hill Mountain Bike Club will be pulling out all the stops; full digital timing from Mikrotime, catering from Cafe in the Woods and all the regular trade stands along with some big name sponsors in talks to support the series.

As ever, there are a few common-sense essentials for the race. Take a minute to read through the following:

  1. Riding in the the park is shut to anyone not racing.
  2. All riders MUST wear a full face helmet. Aston Hill also highly recommends that you wear body armour.
  3. Bikes should be in good working order.
  4. Listen to the marshals - they are there for your safety.
  5. Parking in the field is £1 - anyone from a vehicle caught parking on the verges outside the park will be DQ'd.
  6. Number plates are £5, which will be refunded on return at the end of the race.
  7. Sign on opens 8am Sunday.
  8. You do not need a BC licence to race.
