For 2010 J Lloyd Racing Events Ltd are presenting a wide range of MTB events.
Chain Reaction Cycles MTB Series
J Lloyd racing organise a series of mtb marathons, including
the Chain Reaction Cycles Mtb Series.
After years of watching the development of the MTB Marathon Series (which is going into its 11th season) for the last few years
Chain Reaction Cycles (
www.chainreactioncycles.com) has finally taken on the popular MTB Marathon series and will be the title sponsor for at least 3 years. The new Chain Reaction Cycles MTB Marathon Series (or CRC
MTB Marathon Series) will carry on where the 2009 season left off but will
also introduce lots of new riders and ideas to the events.

The Kona Mash Up 2010 Series
They also organise a series of Downhill verses Enduro Events
- the Kona Mash up Series.
If you haven't heard of it before, the Kona Mash Up was first introduced in
2008 introducing a whole new and exciting event format, mixing downhill,
trail riding and cross country aspects, creating events which breaks up
traditional riding boundaries. Stirring a two wheeled culture clash JLR have
laid down the ultimate challenge to unite riders across the board. From XC
whippets to the most technically gifted downhill riders and every breed of
trail warrior in-between, these races break down traditional riding
boundaries, encouraging a step out of regular comfort zones to go against
the clock on seminal sections at each location.

TransWales
Along with all this they also organise the Trans Wales,
a 7 day MTB stage event.
For years mountain bikers have been searching for new challenges. From a
temporary disinterest in cross country racing, an ever growing market of
long distance endurance events has evolved. Primarily their attraction is
that they demand more than just sheer brutal power for 1.5 hours, the key to
their success are tactics and pacing and the riders’ right frame of mind.
Endurance events or mountain bike marathons have been around in the UK now
for more than half a decade and have turned the scene and the industry
around. What used to be a sport for just a few ‘race horses’ is now a
regular event happening throughout the UK. This trend towards mass
participation events for all levels of riders, enables people of varying
abilities to overcome their barriers, achieving new personal goals and
simply follow a healthy and active lifestyle. They also offer the chance to
get away from it all, relax and have fun. With this in mind JLR created the
first ever ‘TransWales’ in 2006 and are continuing running the TransUK in
either Wales or Scotland. For 2010 the TransUK events are staying in Wales
for the 4th ‘issue’ of the TransWales - 7 day long Mountain Bike stage
challenge. The event is a mixture of linking stages and special stages and
can be tackled in either pairs or as solo riders. Not just endurance but
also tactics, the right equipment and an ability to pace yourself will be
key to enjoying as well as to winning this event.
