For many of the
riders it was their first taste of Woburn, taking in
some fantastic singletrack and fun loops through
Woburn's maze of trails. It was great to see
everyone leave with a huge (muddy) smile on their
face.
Some last minute
rain and snow showers in the morning before the ride
made certain trails slow going, and others
'interesting' for our riders. A few crashes and
awkward moments on the bike took place, but
thankfully no injuries or damaged bikes! Although
the weather God's made it challenge with the early
morning snow, at least the Sun did come out and
shine all day long for us.
The ride was a
shorter affair than normal, only lasting about ten
miles. This was due to both the trail conditions and
also because a lot of the ride was linking in
different singletrack sections and small loops of
Woburn Woods.
All the group
completed the ten mile ride before a large chunk
left for appointments with a Roast dinner (lucky
them!), and then a few of us headed out for a
further loop before leaving.
A big thank you
goes out to everyone who supported the ride and
attended, especially those of you that made the
effort to drive quite a distance to attend. It was great to see such a good turn out
and such a keen group of riders. A massive shout of
thanks must also go out to Wayne and Christian who
kindly led the ride and showed us all around the
Woburn area.
