Race Team
History:Since Bucksmtb first set
itself up in mid 2002 we have been running a Race Team, but not just any
Race Team...
We have always
worked extremely hard to run a Junior Development scheme for our young
riders along with running backing for Senior riders.
The Junior Development scheme helps
young local riders to make a name for themselves, not only on the local
race circuits, but also further a field throughout UK race events and
beyond. The Junior Development Race Squad program has always been
fantastically successful, with many of our riders going on to bigger
things, bigger race teams, and better results - something we are very
proud to have been part of.
The Junior Development Race Squad
always ran very well from day one with lots of interested youngsters
signing up. For the 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006 race seasons we had a
fantastic number of riders riding under our colours all over the UK.
With their help we managed to help grow the Bucksmtb name to an audience
larger than just our local peers.
The 2005/2006 seasons saw our largest
race squads to date, we had over 25 riders riding all over the UK
showing off the Bucksmtb colours in Downhill, Cross Country and 4X
events nationwide.
For 2007 and 2008 we decided to shrink
the Race Team after the loss of several of our talented riders to other
teams (of which we were extremely happy to see them move up in the
world) but we also lost a lot of our Junior Devo riders to other hobbies
and interests. Therefore for 2007 and 2008 we postponed signing any
riders under the Junior Development scheme, instead to take a slightly
new turn to concentrate for a season or two with our Senior Cross
Country Riders.
The 2007 and 2008 seasons saw some
fantastic results from our Senior Cross Country Riders in all sorts of
XC, Enduro, Navigator, TrailQuest and time trial events.
For 2008/2009 we are looking to
continue our dedicated support of the Senior XC riders, and start to
promote signings of young riders back into our Junior Development
Program. Look out for many more bucksmtb jerseys flying past you on
tracks nationwide.
The bucksmtb team has made a superb
name for itself in 6 years, and for sure the Race Team is here to stay
and keep that name alive for many years to come.
While were talking the history of our
race team, the Bucksmtb race colours traditionally have always been red,
with most of the XC and DH riders running red jerseys. However, this
wasn't always the case. When we first set the site up in 2002 our
colours were originally blue and running Gill kit until about 2003/04
when we changed to red and Pearl Izumi Jerseys. 2005 onwards saw us
change to various colours including lime green and camo. From 2005/06 to
the present we have been running primarily black kit generally from the
Azonic racing line. For 2008/09 Endura will be the kit of choice,
running again in a primarily black colour scheme. We have always tried
to make our kit that little bit different from the norm, just to make us
the small website, stand out against the much bigger boys on the block.

Sponsor?
Would you be interested in sponsoring our Bucksmtb
Race Team? We are currently looking for a sponsor for the 2009/2010 race
team. For 2010 the Race Team will consist of 2 - 4 riders riding
nationwide in XC and DH events. We are looking for a sponsor that can
help take the sting out of the costs of races both for our Senior Riders
and are soon to be announced Junior Development riders.
If you would like more information on what we can offer in return and
how to sponsor our race team, please contact Scott on
