Back to Reviews Easton EA70 Mid Rise Handlebar: I have been running EA70 handlebars on my downhill and cross country bikes for the last 4 or 5 years, and I simply cannot fault them at all. Not only are they one of the toughest set of aluminum bars on the market, they are also one of the lightest sets - creating one of the best multi purpose bars for many different MTB disciplines. The bars come in a very tough black shot peen finish so they take high mileage and general wear and tear very well. They are also available in a flat XC bar option and three riser options (a 1in rise, a 1.5in rise and a 2in rise). The riser bar comes in a really wide set up of nearly 29in so there is plenty of scope for cutting down for a personal fit. If your on the market either for a tough bar for DH duties or for a light weight bar for XC riding you certainly cant beat the EA70 bar. If your also not a fan of the idea of carbon handlebars you are probably best off sticking to aluminum and going for a bar such as the EA70, keeping the strength for a very little gain in weight over carbon...
Easton EA70 Forged Stem (2006): The EA70 stem is available in various lengths and rises so you can get your bike sorted for the bestt fit and feel for your riding style. The main stem comes in the usual tough black shot peen Easton finish, with the bar cap coming in a silver shot peen finish. Twin bolt stem clap and twin bolt bar cap fittings keep the weight down but keep a high amount of strength. The EA70 stem is definitely marketed towards the XC and Enduro riders out there, unlike the super strong bar this stem isn't going to take the beatings seen on the DH track. But if you are looking for a super light, super tough XC stem with good looks, durability and value you for money the EA70 stem is where it is at.
