Back to Reviews For 2006/2007 Azonic have totally changed their Catalyst range to bring us a real clean and subtly styled stealth look DH kit that's really set the tone for DH race wear this year.
The Jerseys are now made from a much better material than previous
seasons and sizing is a little bit more realistic. The main colour is
a real dark charcoal and black with lighter grey highlights and
backing graphics. The Azonic logos both front and back are subtle and
are well screen printed to fit the bill of the shirt. A nice touch is
the red Azonic logo on the collar. The jerseys are well ventilated and
are light weight but one niggle is the sleeves can be a bit tight to
get certain body armour under. Most Dainese and 661 body armour fits
under a treat mind. The shorts for this year have had the bulky padding removed from past years and are also made on a more resistive material for tumbles of the bike. The look is much nicer too keeping to just black with white and silver for the logos, stretch panel sections and highlights. The shorts are tough but aren't a silly weight, they are simply a durable and comfortable short to wear. A tough zipped fly and internal phone/key pocket finish off a superb pair of shorts.
Matching gloves are available also but these are not to everyone's
liking - they come in the form of an old school MX type glove with
limited padding and protection, and they are also a cuff less fit
which takes some getting used to. Good looks and good price though...
