June the 8th
sees the West Drayton Mountain bike Club in association with
their long term sponsors Beyond Mountain Bikes promote the 4th
cross-country mountain bike race at Black Park Country Park,
near to Iver Bucks.
The venue, which
is large country park although flat, has some lovely flowing
single track, which is technical in places along with a couple
of fire roads to blast along and the circuit has been designed
to feature a figure of right to ensure spectators get a good
view of the action this year and will be close to 3 miles
long.
There is racing
for all classes and new for this year is a special single
speed event for which a crate of beer will supplement the
normal trophy and other prizes on offer for the winner. Being
a flat circuit the event is an ideal race for novice riders
and beginners with a separate beginners class as the club try
to encourage some new blood to the race scene, those that are
more experienced should not worry that it may not be
technical enough as the faster the single track is ridden the
more opportunity there is to test bike handling skills.
For the fun
women’s race Dirt Divas have generously donated a couple of
their highly regarded courses to give out as prizes. As always
the usual podium, trophies, prizes and champagne will be on
hand for the winners, with Mike Conway photographers on hand
to catch the moment of glory.
Entry on line is
available up until the 1st June via the www.mbsawebsite.com
and entry on the day will be available. More details can be
