WYCOMBE SUMMIT MTB XC RACING

Some of you may have raced a Wycombe Summit MTB event at the old ski slope in High Wycombe. Due to a fire at the old ski slope and the building being destroyed the Summit MTB series has relocated to the Chiltern1XV club wood, Lotts Wood, which is near Great Missenden. A whole series of XC races is on the cards for 2006....

Summit Racing is organising an evening XC race series in their own course at Lotts Wood near Hyde Heath (Great Missenden).

The first race of the season is set to take place on the Wednesday 24th May.

The event is supported by TORQ Fitness.

The race event will feature races for the established male XC categories – Expert, Masters, Sport, Veteran and Juniors - competitors in these five categories race for 40 minutes plus one lap starting at 19.30.

Female racers are grouped in two categories – Racer and Club to cater for all levels of ability.

There is a popular Fun Male category for newcomers and club riders. We also cater for youngsters, with two Young Rider categories for riders aged 8 to12 years old and 12 to under 16 years old. Racers in these categories start at 19.40 and race for 30 minutes plus a lap.

Points are awarded to race finishers in all categories. Total points scored in all rounds count towards the final series positions and trophies kindly donated by On Two Wheels will be awarded to the respective champions in each category.

In addition to the first round on 24th May it is hoped that more events and races can be organised and announce for further dates in June, July and September.
