Bucksmtb
Forum XMAS Group Ride 2006
Aston Hill, 27th Dec
Ever since we
started up Bucksmtb we have had a traditional Forum & Race Team group
ride each year on Christmas Eve. Sadly this year Christmas Eve didn't
suit most people so we went for the 27th of December instead....
This year we headed back to
Aston Hill for a day of Downhill Riding organised in partnership
between us and users of our busy forum.
The fog and showers of the last few weeks gave way to give us a cold
but sunny day, and surprisingly after all the rain we have had the
Downhill Tracks at Aston Hill were riding really well. The tracks in
all were grippy but there were plenty of wet muddy corners to catch
you out if you were over confident....
Just under 30 people attended
this Years ride which was a superb success. We had over 40 listed to
attend on the week leading up to Christmas, but as with all things its
not easy to plan ahead over such a busy time as Christmas. 30 though
was a great turn out and it was really good to get the team together,
and for people who we ride with and that use our forum to catch up
too.
This year we didn't hold a
Christmas Cross Country Forum Ride as there simply wasn't enough
interest to warrant organising it. Shame really. Maybe next year...
All in all the day was a huge
success and it was great to have such a good turn out, good track
conditions and fair weather that led to some great riding for the day.
A shout of thanks goes out to everyone who helped organise the event,
and thanks to everyone who attended... There's still loads of sweets
left too if anyone's hungry....!?!?
Keep a look out for official
Bucksmtb Group Rides for 2007 along with many more forum organised
events.
Happy New Year to all.
